The need for a new Masjid

from these small beginnings, the community has grown tremendously.

As we continue to meet the growing needs of the community, our biggest challenge is
having proper facilities. We currently rent a 4000 sq feet office building which houses the
islamic school as well as a small musallah. This space is already inadequate for
current activities. For the past 3 years, Juma'ah prayers are offered in the club house of a
    local park.
    Building a new Masjid

Alhamdulliah, in May 2005, the city of Folsom approved our plans to build a masjid on a
2 acre parcel located in the heart of Folsom. The masjid is named after Hazrath Bilal,
an African slave who was one of the early converts to Islam. Our goal is to build a
masjid that would be a source of pride to the muslim and non-muslim community.
  • A 2-story building with over 30,000 sq. ft of space
  • Capacity for 600 men and 300 women to offer salat
  • Fully equipped school with 7 class rooms, library, computer room & principals
    office.
  • Multi purpose hall for school use, community functions as well as prayer
    overflow area.

Masjid Bilal project will be
executed in 3 phases. However,
we will have enough
improvements done by the end of
the second phase to occupy the
building, insha Allah.

Total funding requirement for
Phase 1& 2 is $2.3 M.
Alhamdulliah, we have enough to
get started on Phase 1, but we
need to raise about $1.9M.
